Writing & Editing

David Harms, CoveComm's principal writer and editor, has extensive experience in substantive and stylistic editing. David has been a free lance editor and writer for over 15 years, and has authored, co-authored, or edited numerous technical books. He has worked (if that's the word) as humor columnist for Alternatives Journal, the official publication of the Environmental Studies Association of Canada, and has written and edited a variety of fiction and non-fiction. David uses Microsoft Word for short documents, and Adobe FrameMaker for book-length projects.

Writing credits

• Co-author (with Ross Santos) of Developing Clarion for Windows Applications, published by SAMS, 1995. This 600 page book became an instant classic with Clarion developers.
• Co-author (with Barton Fiske and Jeff Rice) of Web Site Programming with Java, published by McGraw-Hill, 1996. This was the sixth or seventh Java book in print.
• Author of JSP, Servlets, and MySQL, MT Books, 2001. MT Books is an imprint of HungryMinds, which was the name IDG (publishers of the Dummies series)
• Author of 130+ Clarion-related articles in Clarion Magazine
• Humor columns written for Alternatives Journal (a small sample):
